Details of 100m Facebook users collected & published online!
A torrent appeared on 2010-07-28 containing personal details of 100 million Facebook profiles. The torrent contains:
-
- The URL of every searchable Facebook user's profile
-The name of every searchable Facebook user, both unique and by count (perfect for post-processing, datamining, etc)
- Personal information that was made public on each profile (Determined by your privacy settings)
- The program used to get this information
Looks like it's time to change your Facebook privacy settings!

Japanese can read your mind?
It seems a team of Japanese scientists have actually created a technology that can literally 'read your mind'. By showing a person a series of different random visual images, they can read the results using a fMRI machine to read electrical signals to your primary visual cortex. Watch this video:
Though your probably saying 'But this can barely read shapes! but this technology is only in infancy; remember the very first computers? In 20 years time, if this technology keeps getting better society as we know it could change a lot and we may even be able to record our very own dreams (Dreamtube?). We just have to wait and see.
