Update

I've just finished college now, I'll have a lot more time to work on this website so expect to see a lot more things coming up soon :)
Sorry for the lack of updates and all.

I'm currently messing around with programming with Flash to design my own games, so far I'm only at the early stages but I plan to in the future create my own one :)

Check back here for more regular updates this time, but check out this and I think you'll be pretty amazed :)

The iPad. A few thoughts..

I'm sure pretty much everyone has heard about the iPad recently and the conflicting opinions people have about it. If you haven't heard of it before it's Apples latest attempt at a tablet computer that allows 'internet browsing, media consumption, gaming, and light content creation'. But what do I (and many other people) think of it?

Personally it lacks any strong purpose that justify the price. All of you reading this have a PC, so why decide to browse on the internet on your iPad? If you're on the go then a Netbook is cheaper, more flexible and more efficient than a iPad. Gaming? Most people own a games console of some kind so why use an iPad? I'd much prefer a Nintendo DS or PSP any day. iPad reads ebooks in an extremely easy to use, friendly way with touch technology making them more efficient than ever but are people willing to spend this much just for these things? Why would you specifically buy an iPad?

Apple seems to be aiming to want customers to replace books with ebooks which then they would read on there iPad, a good point made by Chris Pirillo is that it would be good for schools but for the pricing and features, it just sounds like a toy.

Don't get me wrong, if someone offered to give one to me for free, I'd take it without a doubt and even if it was cheaper (a lot cheaper), I'd might even consider getting one. At the moment, to me it just seems like an oversized iPod touch which brings me onto this picture:

Like it or not, that's what it seems like to me. Apple losing support from flash will effect the future of the iPad quite a bit, especially with plans to use HTML5. Most browsers don't support HTML5 completely, how will developers 'develop' for the iPad if they don't understand it? No multitasking from the iPad either. You can't run multiple apps at once which is a big disappointment, especially considering the price and how it's marketed and finally DRM scares, Apple have got a lot of things to fix but in saying all this, iPad does have a lot of potential but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Please note, these are only my opinions and probably will differ from yours. Thanks for reading and please comment your opinion :)
